It was a shining day and we were scheduled to play Kanishka Garments today. But they were not available for the match and so we had to call up to Sri`s team for a match that started pretty late around 9.30am.
They won the toss and elected to Bat first. Our line up was Ranganathan, Sunny, Selvam, Uppili, Shakthi, Sathish, Thunder, Parthiban, Saravanan, Ashok, Vinod. Our bowlers struck and early and picked up wickets are regular intervals. They bundled down for 96 in 17.5 overs. The most economical bowler was Vinod, supported well with Thunder and Saravanan. New intro Ashok.R. also did a very good job with the ball dismissing their most dangerous batsman in the first over itself. Their star player Dinesh was dismissed for just 2 runs again by Parthiban. This is his third time haul over this batsman in a row. Their captain Uday was the only stay at the crease till the end, but could not take their team to a commanding position at any point just because our bowlers did a splendid work.

Ranganathan and Sunny opened the innings for our team. Ranganathan was dismissed by a great caught n bowled by their captain Uday, after he hit a beautiful powershot straight over bowlers head. Sathish fell for a duck and Sakthi offered some assistance with Sunny. We posted 56/3 in 10 overs when Shakthi was dismissed. Selvam blast away with a six and 2 fours in his short innings before he was caught out for a good catch in the deep. Our score was then 72/4. But opponents were finding ways to get out Sunny but it was too late before which he sailed the team to victory in 15 overs with his unbeaten knock of 40 which included 6 fours.

It was a decisive victory for our team and we rejoiced after we fielded in scotching sun.
